UAE: Federal Supreme Court Sentences Son of Convict Involved in Secret Organisation Case

ABU DHABI, Nov 25 (WAM) - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Federal Supreme Court, headed by Judge Mohammed Al-Jarrah Al-Tunaiji, today sentenced the son of a man convicted of involvement with a secret organisation to three years in prison and fined him AED 500,000 (more than US$136,000) after finding him guilty on all charges.

UAE: GDP Grows 236-Fold in 43 Years, Economy to Grow 4.8 Per Cent this Year

ABU DHABI, Nov 25 (WAM) - The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has grown 236-fold in the past 43 years since the establishment of the Federation, starting at just AED1.77 billion (over US$463 million) in 1971, and is expected to reach AED419 billion (more than US$114 billion) by the end of this year, UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri said on Monday.
