During her visit, Almheiri met with Dr. Mohammed Al Bialy, Director of UAEU, and toured the College of Food and Agriculture, to learn about its programmes and laboratories. While touring the college’s labs, she was also briefed by students on their applied research in water, soil, animal nutrition, food microbiology, and medical analysis of nutrition and orchards.

Almheiri praised the UAEU’s advanced capacities, laboratories and research centres, which helped to prepare qualified UAE nationals, while emphasising that the wise government has prioritised achieving national agricultural security, according to the highest standards, to attain sustainable development and promote the sector’s advancement in the country.

Dr. Al Bialy highlighted the importance of the university’s future role in maintaining regional and international scientific leadership and excellence in the area of higher agricultural education, in line with the vision of the country's leadership to achieve sustainable national food security.

He added that the university has designed new academic, applied and specialist courses, in line with international developments in applied agricultural science research, which will utilise the latest related technologies related to integrated productive agriculture, food preparation, agro-business, natural resources and environmental systems.
